Sugar Land’s third annual Cultural Kite Festival is scheduled to be from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. March 3, at Sugar Land Memorial Park in Sugar Land, Tx.
Sugar Land Memorial Park is at 15300 University Blvd.
There is scheduled to be a miniature kite museum showcasing the history of kite making, kite-flying lessons and kite-flying competitions.
A kite-making workshop is scheduled to give children a chance to build, design and take home their own kites.
Other entertainment are scheduled to feature walk-around characters, stilt-walkers and cultural performers.
Henna tattoos and face painting are scheduled to be available for children.
Trophies are scheduled to be given for largest kite, smallest kite, most unusual/unique kite, highest-flying kite and most colorful kite.
Limited parking is scheduled to be available at the park.
Additional parking is scheduled to be available at the UH Sugar Land Campus, located at 14000 University Blvd., where free shuttle buses are scheduled to be available.
All activities and entertainment are free and open to the public, and refreshments are scheduled to be sold by local food vendors.
